But no biggie if you missed out, cuz we got a brand new Boogie concept planned for you on the 25th of February! Lunar Landing is gonna be a fresh and electric way to start our new year. And this time we have an assortment of deep soulful electronic music brought to you be Rotterdam’s favorite resident Damoon and Strange Fruit’s own Thelonious. So all y’all Electronic Soul and Boogie lovers are more than welcome!
As usual BF is not just about the music, but about the culture, so it is our duty to make sure you will visit our city’s own International Film Festival. As always the IFFR has a wonderful selection of arthouse movies that you just have to see! And to make it easy for you, we have pre-selected 5 movies we think you should see the next week!
The list of 5 must see movies at the IFFR:

Black’s Game
Based on a controversial book about Iceland’s seedy underbelly, which is largely based on real events and people, the film Black’s Game (Svartur á Leik) revolves around how a young man is pulled in to the world of organized crime. Far from being glamorous the film directs its eye on the dark and the gritty reality of drug trafficking and casts a light on what many Icelanders refuse to even believe it exists in their picture perfect country.

Bunohan
A Malaysian kickboxing and gangster film with the flair of a Sergio Leone Western. A crime story about three brothers in a village near the Thai border, but also a highly visual film between art and action, just as the story plays out between different cultures.
The film is about three Malaysian brothers who all have their own ways of dealing with the other two, and all three also have links with the underworld. It has an unmistakably classic dimension.

38 Temoins
Outside an apartment complex in the French port city of Le Havre, a female student is gruesomely murdered in the middle of the night. The complex’s 38 inhabitants say they heard or saw nothing. Until one of them, the introverted pilot Pierre (Yvan Attal), decides to break the silence.

A Dangerous Method
A Dangerous Method looks at the early period of psychoanalysis and the fruitful clash between Sigmund Freud (played by Cronenberg regular Mortensen) and his critical follower Carl Gustav Jung (a controlled Fassbender). The story focuses on the ‘hysterical’ Sabina Spielrein (Knightley), who is treated successfully by Jung using Freud’s insights, then embarks on a secret relationship with her married doctor and later becomes a famous feminist psychoanalyst herself.

The Hunter
The Australian bush attracts and frightens. That also goes for Martin, who treks into the wilderness of Tasmania in this exciting psychological adventure drama. Via a mysterious biotechnological company, he has been commissioned to track down the last Tasmanian tiger. Not an easy commission, that much is clear. The tiger is sought at length, but without success. Martin hears from the local guide that the previous hunter has been missing for months. He also finds his traps are sabotaged and he’s being tracked on his quest.
